PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: It is HIGHLY recommended that students are introduced to drawing by copying plates from Charles Bargue. The exercise is to developed the language of comparing and contrasting- shape, proportion, angles, and edges. This language will be expressed across all exercises going forward.
Comparative Drawing and Painting with a Live Model

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This is a comparative drawing and painting class open to beginning, intermediate, and advanced students. The goal of this class is to train the comparative eye, focusing on gesture, shapes, and value. Students enrolled in painting will be using a limited palette with a large focus on mixing, squinting and organizing your palette as well as developing their shapes, values and edges.
Students will spend 3 hours per Saturday for 9 consecutive weeks working from a live model, with one-on-one constructive critique from the instructor. Each class will begin with 30 minutes of gesture drawing, and 2.5 hours of long-pose.
FEE: There is a $450.00 (drawing) $600.00 (painting) non-refundable fee for the program in totality. Students may pay through PayPal, Credit, or Venmo. Payment for single classes and discounts for missed classes are not accepted. Space is limited to 10 students.
